MIGNA SANCHEZ-LLORENS
Migna brings more than a decade of experience as an advocate of indigent, disenfranchised, and at-risk individuals while serving as a state and federal assistant public defender. Prior to her legal career, Migna worked in the banking industry for nine years where she acquired organizational and management skills that are essential in managing the courts’ congested dockets.
Migna has for many years devoted herself to working and addressing the issues of domestic violence. In addition to litigating and trying cases in this area, she has been appointed as a Board Member for various state and county domestic violence organizations, including the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence Statewide Legal and Policy Council, and the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Oversight Board. Migna’s interactions with local and state political leaders in these committees, as well as other groups, has provided her with a breadth of knowledge and comprehension as to how these concerns are dealt throughout the state.
Migna is the mother of two lovely daughters and married to Rene Gonzalez-LLorens, a partner at Shutts & Bowen. She is actively involved at her daughters’ school, serves on the women's Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters and is an active member of Junior League of Miami, Inc.
